After my yoga and surf classes on the weekend at Playa Maderas in Nicaragua, my body is very stiff and tired. Yesterday, I decided to give my body a break and to venture into San Juan Del Sur to explore. Aga’s (the yoga instructor at Maderas Village) man friend Alex offered me a ride into town on his bike along with his dog Sunny.
Nikki snapped some shots of the ‘Sunny sandwich bike ride’.
I had a great afternoon exploring the quaint streets being snap-happy and sampling local dishes and beers. I’ll dedicate a separate blog post on what to see and do in San Juan Del Sur later this week.
Maderas Village is fully booked so I luckily found a room next door at the Bueno Vista Surf Club. It is scenic, peaceful and run by two great young couples. After getting to know the Dutch and Irish couples and other travelers, we enjoyed a lovely family style dinner.
This morning I joined the 7.30am yoga class run by the Irish las, Carla, on the deck overlooking the forest and ocean. It was a great way to stretch my stiff muscles and enjoy the morning sun, breeze with the calming sound of crashing waves. I will definitely be joining the class again tomorrow morning.
Take a minute to process this Tree fact. We need to nurture the world’s forests by reducing our carbon footprint and giving back. You can do that right now by donating a tree to Greenpop’s Treevolution project. For a discounted price of R100 or $10, you can donate a tree which will be planted in Zambia. Guys, please help this great cause. Dig deep into your pockets and make sure that the next generation have trees, gardens and forests. It would be devastating if there were no trees or forests in years to come.
I’ll blog again soon but I need to dash to get ready for an afternoon / sunset catamaran cruise. Happy days!
