What does your carbon footprint look like? As a yachtie who has spent the past three years working aboard super yachts aka. floating polluters; it is time that I took some action to reduce my carbon footprint.
Greenpop presented me with the perfect opportunity to do so using my blog and getting all you, my fantastic followers, involved too.
For the next month, I will be competing against other Johannesburg bloggers to see who can raise the most trees!
Greenpop, a social enterprise based in Cape Town, is on a mission to (re)connect people with the planet and they do so by organizing reforestation and eco-educational projects. One of their projects is Trees for Zambia – a Festival of Action where local and international volunteers gather in Livingstone to plant 3500 trees over 3 weeks. If I raise the most trees, I will get to spend a week planting trees with them and raising environmental awareness around Livingstone through my blogging efforts! By purchasing a tree for me, you will be entered into a drawing to win a week at a game resort in Botswana.
Watch the video of the 2013 Trees for Zambia here to find out more about this exciting festival and project.
Have you watched it? Yes? How epic?
Please help me to raise trees and help boost the Treevolution and hopefully send me on a trip to Zambia. One tree costs R120 which is roughly $12. Yachties, come on, you spend more than that on a drink sometimes. For those who don’t have that much cash to spare – you can donate any amount that will go towards purchasing a tree.
It’s really easy to donate money towards a tree. You can click on the Donate button on the right-hand side bar of my blog webpage or simply donate now.
Greenpop is so organized that you will get an update on your sponsored seedling’s progress. They will inform you of your little one’s development in Zambia.
Help me reduce my and your carbon footprint and donate now.
Spread the word, do a good deed. It will put a smile on your face and will make you feel good. If you’ve donated already then please take a bow, pat yourself on the back or do a little fist pump. You. are. awesome.
Yours in photosynthesis and green happiness,
