I am finally visiting Rich’s family farm Bonny Ridge in Kokstad, South Africa. The farm is beautiful and green. It’s so refreshing being out in open spaces and in nature with fresh clean air. Their garden is particularly stunning with an array of coloured flowers in bloom.
Rich’s sister, Lulu from Berry Diaires, has recently completed her Integral Yoga Teacher’s course. When Rich and I surprised Lulu and her husband Pete in New York City in August; I first heard about Integral Yoga.
Lulu told me about the year long course she was completing and mentioned that the Integral Yoga centre in New York was a few blocks from where the yacht was docked. On my next day off, I navigated my way through Chelsea’s streets and found the centre. The yoga class was quite different from any yoga class I had done before but I enjoyed stretching my muscles in the various poses and clearing my mind during the meditation exercises.
This morning Lulu rounded up everyone for an Integral Yoga class on the garden lawn overlooking the dam. It was the perfect setting for a yoga class with fresh air, sunshine and the sound of birds tweeting in the trees.
There were a few yoga newbies who found the chanting ‘Om’ a bit much for their first class but they did well to stretch into the different bow, tree, cobra, downward-facing dog poses.
We felt grounded and relaxed at the end of the class as Lulu’s calming voice led us in meditation. Thank you Lulu for a lovely Integral Yoga class. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and well done for getting your brothers and Dad involved. 😉
After a lovely morning of yoga with Lulu, we sat on the veranda sipping cappuccinos peering out at the rain and listening to the thunder. Perfection.
