“Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.”
– Robert Browning
In the past few months three of my closest friends/family have got engaged. Yes, it’s wedding season and I cannot wait to get home to Cape Town, South Africa, to pop open some champagne to celebrate!
The first couple to get engaged was my brother, Mike, and my future brother-in-law, Gareth. Mike popped the question after sun-downers in an apartment in Camps Bay, Cape Town. This was shortly after they spent a few months traveling through South America, Central America and the USA. I am so excited for them and the fact that I gain a brother-in-law plus a sister (Gareth’s sister), Kelly, who is awesome.
The next pair to get engaged was Nic and Craig aka Jongens-Parr (a combo of their surnames). I sadly missed their gorgeous rooftop engagement party a few weeks ago but will see them soon. This creative, fun-loving, vibrant glowing couple are such a good match and I am so happy for them!
Then on Friday I received a text message from my bestie (since Grade 8 at Westerford High School) saying, “We’re engaged!”. Wahoo!
Jess and Rich aka Honeysmuts (a combo of their surnames, Honeyman and Smuts) met as flat-mates in Cape Town and have been inseparable since. When I was home a year ago, I asked them when they were going to get engaged. I am so thrilled that Rich popped the question. This solid couple are fun, caring and such great friends. Their Sunday evening braai/ sun-downers/ couch potato sessions are the best and I cannot wait to catch up with them soon in Cape Town.
Love is in the air and I am so happy and excited for these newly engaged darlfaces. I will make sure that we will have a few bottles of champagne to toast you all in person in approximately 12 days!
