Wreck This Journal – the perfect travel companion

You may have seen this book in book stores entitled
Wreck This Journal by Keri Smith:

I bought my brother, Mike, a copy for his birthday in April. He specially changed his travel plans and flew all the way from Guatemala to West Palm, Florida, to spend an afternoon and evening with Rich and I. What a champ!

He loved the crazy creative journal which directs its owner to participate in various activities explained on each page. The point of the journal is to wreck it in creative ways. We christened the book with some red wine at a West Palm Thai restaurant but then sadly had to say our goodbyes before Mike continued his travels across the globe with his new travel companion.

Mike was heading to Amsterdam with one of my besties, Alex, after a quick pit stop in Cape Town, South Africa. Yes, you can imagine my jealousy levels! Anyway, I knew that ‘Wreck This Journal’ would be right up Alex’s alley too. So in his Birthday card I directed Mike and Alex to wreck the journal along their travels. They were meeting up with one of our Dutch friends and their tour guide, Fedor. I knew the three of them would put the paperback to good use.

As you can see in the photographs; Mike, Alex, Fedor and friends did a superb job of finding creative ways to wreck the journal.

I can only imagine what Mike’s journal smells like but I do know that there is a lot more wrecking that needs to be done. The next time I see him, we are going to have to find new creative ways to wreck what is left of the journal.

Have you got your own ‘Wreck This Journal’? If so, how have you wrecked yours?
