Exploring Northwood Village in West Palm, Florida

As a yachtie situated in West Palm, Florida; it’s quite easy to be consumed by the $15 bottomless Mimosas on weekends at Rybovich Marina’s MY Cafe. You land up chatting to friends from other yachts and the next thing you know you’ve had more than enough vitamin C and the sun is setting. On Sunday I decided it would be a waste to repeat Saturday’s activities so Rich and I decided to explore somewhere new in West Palm. A short drive on the Rybo shuttle led us to Northwood Village off Dixie Highway.

This hidden spot is described as ” one of the most inviting, eclectic, funky and hip micro-neighborhoods in South Florida.” I had driven through the neighbourhood with fellow stew, Sam, a few days prior and was reminded of Cape Town’s Harfield Village meets Woodstock.

We started at one end of Northwood Road with a delish burger at Relish before exploring the brightly coloured semi-detached spaces that house art galleries, antique stores, coffee shops and restaurants, barber shops and bakeries. Unfortunately, as it was a Sunday afternoon some stores were not open but I enjoyed capturing the quirky sights with my camera. Here are some of my favourite shots from the afternoon πŸ™‚
