My Top Ten favourite things to do when I get home to Cape Town!

After kindly sharing my corner couch spot at my Halifax haven, Starbucks; I started chatting to the loveliest Nova Scotian family who are in town for the International Busker Festival. They were in Cape Town last November around the same time I was last there. They absolutely loved it especially the mountains, landscape, and blue skies. It’s moments like these that fuel my occasional home sickness where I daydream about what I am going to do when I get home. These are my Top Ten Mother City activities (in no particular order):

  1. Strolling along Sea Point promenade
  2. Walking the dogs in Newlands Forest/Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens
  3. Biscuit Mill Market on Saturday mornings
  4. Long Street shops, bars and clubs
  5. Beaches especially Clifton 2nd, Fish Hoek and Camps Bay
  6. Surfing at Surfer’s Corner, Muizenburg followed by breakfast at Knead
  7. Roaming Kalk Bay Harbour shops
  8. Authentic South African Sunday lunch and jol at Mzoli’s Place
  9. Woodstock art galleries and a legendary sandwich at The Kitchen
  10. Wine tasting in Franschoek – lunch at Bread and Wine on Moreson wine estate

I’m not sure when I will get leave from the yacht to visit home again but I do hope it will be around the summer months. Until then, I will continue to daydream… I love and miss you my home town and its inhabitants!
